Life Insurance

Circumstances sometimes change so that life insurance is no longer needed to protect the financial well-being of your family. It’s simple to redirect life insurance. You can designate a charity such as Fair Share Education Fund as the beneficiary of your life insurance policy, which you will continue to own during your lifetime. This may provide your estate with valuable tax savings.

Alternatively, you can assign ownership of the policy to the charity. In this case, you will give up control over the policy; but you may be able to receive a current income tax charitable deduction.

After you consult with your advisors, your insurance agent can make these types of simple changes to your policy.

For more information, including our tax identification number and other resources regarding legacy giving, please call our Planned Giving Coordinator at (800) 841-7299. Donations to Fair Share Education Fund may be tax-deductible. Your attorney or financial advisor can evaluate the effect upon your estate of a gift to Fair Share Education Fund.
